　　蚊子和狮子

　　A mosquito went up to a lion and said, “Everyone says you are the strongest animal in the world.”

　　一只蚊子来到狮子面前，说：“大家都说你是世界上强壮的动物。”

　　“That’s right,” said the lion. “I am big and strong, and I have sharp teeth.”

　　“没错，”狮子说，“我又大又壮，我还拥有锋利的牙齿。”

　　“Well, I’m not afraid of you,” said the mosquito. “I am going to fight you, and I am going to win!”

　　“然而，我不怕你。”蚊子说。“我要跟你搏斗，而我将会赢。”

　　“You could never win,” laughed the lion. “I am a thousand times stronger than you.”

　　“你一定不会赢，”狮子说，“我比你强壮几千倍。”

　　“Here I come!” cried the mosquito, and he flew toward the lion’s face.

　　“看我的!”蚊子喊叫着，他飞向了狮子的脸。

　　The mosquito landed on the lion's nose and bit him again and again. The lion tried to sink his teeth into the mosquito, but the mosquito was too small.

　　蚊子落在了狮子的鼻子上，不断地咬他。狮子尝试用牙齿咬蚊子，但是蚊子太小了。

　　"I give up!" said the lion. "Please don't bite me anymore."

　　”我认输了!“狮子说，”求你不要再咬我了。“

　　"I won!" shouted the mosquito as he flew away. But he didn't look where he was going and he became trapped in a spider's web.

　　”我赢了!“蚊子一边飞走一边欢呼。但是他没有留意他的去向，然后陷入到一个蜘蛛网里。

　　"How strange," thought the mosquito. "I defeated a lion, but a tiny spider can defeat me."

　　”太奇怪了，“蚊子想，”我打败了一只狮子，但是一只小蜘蛛却可以打败我。“

　　狐狸与猴子国王

　　Once upon a time, the animals gathered together and had a meeting in the woods.

　　从前，动物们聚在一起在树林里开会。

　　Theirmeeting was about 'Who gets to become the king?'

　　会议的主题是“谁将成为国王?”

　　However, they could not come to a conclusion easily.

　　但是，他们争来争去没有一个统一的结论。

　　After a long period of time, a rabbit suggested,

　　过了一段时间后，兔子建议，

　　"How about if the best dancer becomes the king?"

　　“好的舞者当国王怎么样呢?”

　　"Yeah, that sounds good," agreed the other animals.

　　“是啊，听起来不错，”其他动物附和说。

　　Therefore, each animal came out inturn and danced eagerly.

　　因此，每个动物轮流出来又蹦又跳的。

　　Nevertheless, there was no other animal who could dance as good as the flexible monkey.

　　但是，没有动物比得上猴子的灵活。

　　Animals gave the monkey a clap.

　　动物们给猴子鼓掌。

　　"Wow! The monkey dances the best. Let's crown the monkeyas our king."

　　“哇哦，猴子跳舞跳的好。咱们让猴子当国王吧。”

　　As a result, the monkey became the king.

　　结果，猴子成了国王。

　　After the monkey became king, a cunning fox got jealous.

　　猴子成为国王后，狡猾的狐狸很是嫉妒。

　　'How can such a stupid animal become king? None sense!'

　　“这样一个愚蠢的动物怎么能当国王呢?真是太好笑了!

　　One day, the fox found a snare with a piece of meat on it while walking around.

　　一天，狐狸散步的时候发现了一个肉块的陷阱。

　　The foxcarefully picked up the snare and took it to the monkey king.

　　狐狸小心地拿起这个陷阱，把它呈给了猴子国王。

　　"My lord! I discovered a treasure. It is magnificent."

　　“国王!我发现了一个宝藏。它的制作真是精巧。”

　　"Really? Bring it to me quickly."

　　“快给我看看。”

　　The monkey was so excited that he approached the snare carelessly.

　　猴子很兴奋，丝毫没有防备地走近这个陷阱。

　　And the monkey fell into the snare.

　　就这样，猴子掉进了陷阱里。

　　"Snap!""Ouch!" shouted the monkey with surprise.

　　“快!”“哎哟!”猴子惊讶地大叫。

　　The monkey realized he got caught in a trap and blamed the fox.

　　意识到自己被困在陷阱里时，猴子才开始指责狐狸。

　　"You deceived me. What a bad fox!"

　　“你骗我。你真是个坏心眼狐狸!”

　　Then, the fox laughed at the monkey and said,

　　然后，狐狸笑着说：

　　"You stupid monkey! How embarrassing it is forus to have such a fool like you as a king!"

　　“你这只笨猴子!有一个像你这样的傻瓜国王，我们多尴尬啊!”

　　After saying that, the fox disappeared.

　　说完，狐狸就消失了。

　　The monkey became the laughingstock of other animalsfor behaving without thinking carefully.

　　从此以后，猴子因为自己的不理智行为成为其他动物的笑柄。
